MRCP In INDIA  - The shortest way to a successful career in medicine

The MRCP (UK) has been nowadays the shortest way to a successful career in medicine around the world, especially in the countries of Indian sub-continent. MRCP is an internationally recognized medical degree. It is a post-graduate medical diploma in the UK.

It's Internationally, the MRCP (UK) portfolio of postgraduate medical examinations are regarded as valuable qualifications. This qualification is designed to test the skills, knowledge and behavior of doctors in training. The MRCP (UK) Diploma has been approved by the General Medical Council (GMC) as the knowledge-based assessment for core medical training.

You do not need to worry about what to do after MBBS to build up a successful career in medicine. This is the gateway exam to the Specialty Training. If one aspires international career, certainly MRCP is a better option. Nowadays so many of the famous Medical Institutes are asking for MRCP as a required qualification. Many MRCP holders who don’t have a general medicine (MD) has been working as consultant physician in various well reputed hospitals.

We would like to say 'YES'. MRCP (UK) is now given equivalency to the MD degree in India. Many MRCP holders who don’t have a general medicine (MD) has been working as consultant physician in private hospitals. Rather, MRCP provides you with some more benefits than the MD if you have a plan to settle even outside of India.

The most significant advantage of MRCP is in its wide recognition in home and abroad. A MRCP holder is given a higher status and pay in gulf countries as well as in other Asian and European countries than MD general medicine, even in Indian hospitals also.

There is better job opportunity also. It's also recognized in Ireland and Singapore if you are planning to do any fellowships. If you are planning to settle in Australia, it gives a boost to your C.V. if you are applying through specialist pathway.

It gives a double benefit of earning better remuneration within the country and at the same time gives an option to pursue a career outside the country. You can apply for CCT (Super specialty) after doing MRCP, from UK. Which is again equivalent to DM in India.
So, it gives you wider recognition. That means after completion of MRCP, you can practice in any part of the world without clearing any licensing examination except for USA and Canada. MRCP Career Guideline

Clinical Examination Skills for the MRCP Paces Exam

About this book This concise book is aimed to assist candidates for the Royal College of Physicians MRCP PACES exam. The exam consists of 5 stations, each of which is scored on 7 different skills. This book also caters to medical students and junior doctors, who wish to learn the art of correct clinical examination. This book takes the reader through all of the clinical stations in order, detailing the required clinical examination for each station and describing appropriate communication skills. "There is a plethora of publications to help candidates prepare for written higher examinations in medicine but few that deal with modern clinical examinations. This book meets that need and fills the gap in current provision for aspiring physicians working towards their formal qualifications." Stephen Allen BSc MD FRCP MBA, Consultant Physician and Visiting Professor, The Royal Bournemouth Hospital, UK. About the author Dr. Deepa Iyer is a physician who is passionate about medicine and enjoys teaching the correct clinical examination skills to medical students and junior doctors who are keen to learn. Having successfully passed the MRCP PACES exam herself, she was unable to find a clinical examination book helping doctors through this new examination format. Drawing upon her own experiences, Dr Deepa Iyer has produced this small but essential book to guide the candidate through the exam.

Basic Medical Sciences for MRCP

A revision book intended primarily for candidates sitting their MRCP Part 1 examination and which covers all the essential basic sciences. It focuses on the recurring themes which come up in the questions. The book also includes a chapter on clinical pharmacology (which alone accounts for up to 30% of the questions), looking at aspects of drug-induced disease and drug interactions. Finally there is a chapter on statistics and epidemiology which is rarely covered in other texts, but is often included in the exam.

Despite the changes to the teaching of the undergraduate in medicine and the integration of the basic sciences with clinical education, the junior doctor, faced with postgraduate examinations, is always going to be poorly prepared for those increasingly important subjects. This book presents the essential information in the form of lists, tables, diagrams and flow charts.
  • Helps MRCP Part 1 candidates prepare for and pass their exam.
  • Addresses an increasingly important topic in the exam.
  • Addresses a topic that is vital to passing the exam, but which most candidates are poorly prepared for.
  • Covers all the relevant basic science subjects plus includes clinical pharmacology.
  • Is of use to candidates studying for other postgraduate exams such as PLAB, USMLE and MRCPCH.
  • Is the first book of its kind in the membership market and is now regarded as essential for exam preparation.
